Yesterday I posted a blog about how school officials banned an 8 year old boy from having toy soldiers on his hat. Post is here.
I read today in the AP, that the boy, David Morales, received a medal from a retired Rhode Island National Guard General as well as a certificate that allows David to call himself brigadier general.
A Lt. Gen. Reginald Centracchio, the retired head of the Rhode Island National Guard said,
"You did nothing wrong, and you did an outstanding job," he said. "We can only hope that kids of your caliber will continue to defend this country." (Teesquare note: I really like the use of the word caliber in this context).
My hats off to General Centracchio and of course my hats off to "General" Morales, two outstanding people.
