Isaac Newton and the Tea Party

I was thinking  about Sir Isaac Newton and the Three Laws of Motion and I started to compare it to the politics of the day and they seem to fit with the Tea Party very nicely.

For every action there is an equal and opposite re-action. (Newton's Third Law of Motion)

The Tea party was formed by this Law of Motion. The actions being: the overspending of both the Bush and Obama Administrations. The forcing of bailouts, TARP, and the Health Care law.The belief of that big government is the only solution to our problems. The opposite reaction is the call for less spending and a smaller government.  The Tea Party Third Law of Motion: For every increase in government there is a equal and opposite decrease in liberty.

Acceleration is produced when a force acts on a mass. The greater the mass (of the object being accelerated) the greater the amount of force needed (to accelerate the object). (Newton's Second Law of Motion)

In my view this symbolizes the current progressive political machine. Both Republicans and Democrats have been shifting what is "normal" in  American politics. This build-up of progressives in the United States is the mass in the equation.  It takes more force (ie; the Tea Party) to move a greater mass (progressive thinking).  The Tea Party Second Law of Motion: Tea Party Patriots should create enough force to shift ideological thought back that of our founders.

An object at rest will remain at rest unless acted on by an unbalanced force. An object in motion continues in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. This law is often called "the law of inertia".

This refers to the government (the object in the equation). The unbalanced force is the People. This is kind of what I see as checks and balances. The government only "moves" when an unbalanced force propels it to move. So when the unbalanced force is liberal progressives (such as in 2008) the government shifts toward big government. When the unbalanced force is conservatives (as in 2010)  the balance shifts toward smaller government. What ever the direction (left or right) the government is propelled it will continue in that direction until forced in the opposite direction. Tea Party First Law of Motion: Create a force large enough to propel the government to align with the voice of the American people.

Restoring Honor - A Class Act

I watched the Restoring Honor Rally online, that was held in Washington D.C. this morning. I also watched an interview with Rev. Al Sharpton and his opinion of how this rally was a "bad thing", and all I could think of during the rally was that who would actually oppose honor? The dishonorable?

The extreme liberal left had been saying that the rally was going to be completely made of racists who's whole objective was to see how many crosses they could burn and black people they could lynch in a three hour period. What was really there was Americans who wanted to inspire other Americans to return to their God and restore the honor of our country.

It was a very moving event to watch and I'm glad I did. I would have loved to be there but I'm glad I watched it online because several times it made even me cry like Glenn Beck (if you don't know Glenn Beck that is a lot). More importantly what it did was, inspire me to want to do more for our country, what the more will be I do not yet know. I do know I will be doing more.

Colorado Tea Party Speaks

I was looking at the election results and I see a bit of a theme. The Tea Party candidates did very well. Even the Tea Party canidates (or ones that billed themselves as tea party canidates) that lost, got quite a few of votes. I think it shows that the silent majority is truly tired of the same old song and dance by Washington D.C. and Denver. The people want REAL change. I think that coupled with the Dems "eating thier own" with comments like; "I hear these people saying he's like George Bush. Those people ought to be drug tested."; a Robert Gibbs comment on the liberal Democrats who have been disagreeing with the Administration. There could be a larger growth in people who affiliate themselves as Tea Party people and vote for a tea party candidate or at least vote against the sitting liberal Democrat.

With this remember, in this last couple of months before the election there will be lots of people, on both sides, that emulate the tea party positions. Do your research carefully. Just because they say they want lower taxes, doesn't mean they don't mind a fee increase or want to implement a socialized health care. Some sites to get you started are on the left sidebar of this blog. Question everything you hear there will be many lies thrown about by the media and the candidates campaigns.

I believe with the awaking of the country their are many, many, more people who are taking the time to find the candidate that fits their core values. That coupled with about 10% of the people who have a lot more time on their hands because they have no job, I think we can have one of the most vetted elections ever. I was taught that knowledge is power. The power of an educated silent majority can speak volumes to a deaf Washington and Denver.

Patriots Tea Party

I recently read that the Tea Party Patriots are #7 on the list of 100 Americans that the Left Hates the Most. I consider that a badge of honor. Show your support for freedom and listen to some stump speeches by Ray Scott (CO District 54), Bob McConnell (US District 3), Ken Buck (Senator), and Dan Maes (Governor).

It will be on June 27th at Sherwood Park. Starts at 11am ends at 4pm.

On a little side note...Tim Tebow made the 100 Americans that the Left Hates the Most, just wait till Tebow takes it San Fransisco and Oakland this year, they will really hate him.

Stop with the Nazi talk

Why has the main way to refute an argument or criticize someone to call them a Nazi? We have degraded all debates into a big name calling match. Why are we not speaking to each other, debating each other? 

Here are are few examples:

Radio host calls Tebow's draft party a Nazi rally.

Jared Polis says Arizona immigration law is like Nazi Germany.

Thank You, Glenn Beck: Now I can call you a Nazi.

I don't believe that everyone that has a different opinion, is a Nazi. I understand that there are strong feelings on both sides of a political argument but we as Americans are no where close to becoming Nazi's.

Why are we not speaking and debating each other?   Are people becoming to lazy in making an argument that all we can do is call someone a name?  Are we forgetting what the Nazi's stood for, the crimes they committed?

When you call someone a murderer the entire argument on the subject is lost. The American people are smart enough to know what happened in Germany in the 30's and 40's is not happening here. We would never allow that to happen.  By calling someone a Nazi all you have done is make a case that you are crazy and not to be believed. If you have a point in an argument that you strongly believe in, make the point using logic and reason, not...."He's a Nazi".  That will get you know where in my book.

Lets act like the intelligent Americans we are, not like some a prepubescent child calling names in the school yard. That does no one any good.

The Tories are calling Patriots Racist

The big government, tax and spend, liberty stealing, Tories have been up to their old tricks again. When an argument does not go their way they throw out a race card expecting that everybody will run and hide and not defend themselves. Well this Patriot for one, has had enough of the lies and I am going to say my piece. To start with here is a video by a "Representative" from the State of Tennessee making the charge....

I am going to go through the charges he makes and state my opinion.

1) Tea Party People are kind of, without robes and hoods, they have shown a very hardcore angry side of America that is against any type of diversity.

A) You start the conversation calling Tea Party members of the KKK. Great start by calling Tea Partiers racist without any foundation or basis of truth whatsoever. Democrats, by the way have a leader, who was an active member and Grand Wizard of the KKK in Robert Byrd.

A small portion of your sentence I actually agree with:"Angry side of America". We are angry we are angry that our elected officials (ie: you) will not listen to what we are telling you. You work for us.

Then you state that we are "against any type of diversity".  You are flat out wrong. Everybody in this country came from another country, another culture. We have melded together to make an American culture. Some people came to this country willingly some came as slaves. But they all have become Americans. It is funny to me that anybody can make a statement that we (Tea Party people) or any group in America could be against diversity. This is the most diverse country in the World. How can you be against diversity when you are part of such a diverse place?

2) "And we saw opposition to African Americans, hostility toward gays, hostility to anybody who wasn't just, you know, a clone of the George Wallace's fan club."

A) When did you see that? I have been to Tea Parties and have never seen that. I am going to assume that you are talking about the incidents after the vote on the Health Care bill.  I have never seen any evidence of any hostility. There were 1,000's of cameras and phones at those events and the only picture I have seen was one of a man yelling at a Congressman. He was yelling because you folks on Capitol Hill don't listen.  Even with the yelling you still didn't listen. I saw no hostility. I saw people they elected ignoring them while they took bribes for votes. 

3) "I'm afraid they have taken over the Republican Party"

A) Why are you afraid?  Are you just afraid because you might get voted out of office? Last I checked you are not a Republican so why would it make you afraid? If what you say is true and the Tea Party people are a bunch of angry racists, then don't you think the majority of people in America would be discounting Tea Party opinion and you would get to be easily re-elected? No you are afraid because you know that the Tea Party movement is based on moral values and the majority of people align closer to the Tea Party than to the Democrats.  You are afraid you have woken "a sleeping giant".

 4) "I think it's cultural and these people are being led by the nose and they're being led and it's just to be against Barack Obama and Rahm Emanuel and the different people, the diversity that's exhibited in this present White House."

A) Are we being led?  I saw no leader at the last Tea Party, what I saw was people who are angry with their elected leaders policies. It has never been about the race of the President. It is about our elected leaders forcing legislation through Congress against the will of the majority of the people. It is about a culture of corruption that is ever present in the White House. It's about a President that hires tax cheats to head the IRS. Hires known Communists, such as Van Jones. It's about a President that makes 60 speeches about a health care bill, that we do not want, while saying that we do not understand what is in the bill. It's about giving our hard earned money away in stimulus and Tarp laws that do not stimulate. It is about a Congressmen that don't have the courage to look their constituents in the eye and tell them why they voted for any legislation (yeah that's you Congressman Salazar). That is what it is about.

5) "and it could've been about any issue, it could be immigration, it could be cap and trade, whatever it is that could get them off"

A) Tea Partiers are not mad about "any issue" we are mad about every issue. We will fight socialism at all fronts. We do not want our Constitution trampled on. 

Do I see a sexual connotation in your quote? Humm...

6) "And they will push them to whatever levers it is, and they just, their world is changing, and they don't understand it. They don't like it."

A) What I don't understand is that last sentence.

7) Question: Are the Republicans "egging" them on? "Unquestionably they are."

A) My answer to that is good, about time Republicans started acting like Conservatives.

8) "Rep." Cohen thinks that a gathering on the steps by Americans using their First Amendment Rights is a sad scene. (I abbreviated the story for times sake)

A) What is sad is that you are elected officials that will not listen to their constituents and vote accordingly, so the protest is even necessary.

9) In the story "Rep." Cohen said that the gathering on the steps of the Capitol was like "Kristallnacht".

A) This is a very offensive to me, a tea party person.  In this statement he calls the Tea Party movement a bunch of Nazi's who murder and arrest Jews, destroy Jewish property and synagogues. Who is the extremest in this conversation?   Who is inciting violence? We are not. It's the idiot congressman trying to get Tea Party people to "act up".  This reminds me of the two school yard kids having an argument and one is obviously losing so they call the other one stupid! and walk off pouting. Except this time he is calling me and my family murdering Nazi's.

10) The "Congressman" was asked if the Tea Party could be "cured"  if Republicans could have one person say that the Tea Party is ridiculous. He response it that the Republicans are afraid of the Tea Party people.

A) My answer is: good.  Be afraid Republicans. Be afraid Democrats. Fear is a good.  Maybe you will actually listen to the people that elected you. Our power is our vote and we will use it in November.

Tea Party Express in Grand Junction!

On Wendesday, March 31 the Tea Party Express bus will be in Grand Junction. Events start at 9AM at Sherwood Park. Bus to arrive at 10AM. Mrs. T. and I will be there and we can't wait to see you all there! For my friends on the other side of hill, the Tea Party Express will be in Denver on the West steps of the State Capitol at 4pm.

America Rising!

An open letter to the Liberal Democrat Congressman,

I am an American Citizen. I have been guaranteed the Freedom of Speech by the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America. Before March 21, 2010, I used that freedom, to let you know that I was not in favor of the socialized health care plan you were forcing through Congress. Me and millions of other American Citizens told you repeatedly we did not want this health care plan. You ignored us. We protested. You ignored us. We marched on Washington D.C. You ignored us. We attended town halls. You ignored us. We wrote letters, e-mails and faxes. You ignored us. We called. You ignored us. We have done everything in our power to let you know this plan was a bad idea. You REFUSED to listen.

I have studied the Constitution and for a long time and I have read about the three separate branches of government. Over the last year I have realized a fact that isn't tought in our schools. There are actually four branches of government. The branches we learn about in schools are; the Executive Branch, the Judicial Branch, and the Legislative Branch. The forgotten branch of government is the People's Branch.

I am a member of that People's branch of government and I am pissed off. You have ignored the People long enough. America is Rising. If you were one of the 279 members of Congress that voted to approve this bill, your political career is in grave danger. You have made our health care weaker, you have made our dollar weaker, you have made America weaker.

You stole our liberty while lying, bribing, and stealing votes. All for your own personal gain. Remember the 1994 election? America is Rising.

John Adams wrote in 1765: "Liberty must at all hazards be supported. We have a right to it, derived from our Maker. But if we had not, our fathers have earned and bought it for us, at the expense of their ease, their estates, their pleasure, and their blood." I will not let the liberty, given to me by my Creator, or earned from the blood of my forefathers; be trampled on by an elected politician. America is Rising.

I am a hardworking honest American and You STOLE MY LIBERTY! You WILL be replaced. You have doubted the will of the American people. You assumed they were ignorant. You lied to our faces and thought we wouldn't notice. We did. On November 2, 2010, you will join the masses of unemployed you helped to create. America is Rising.

The Gadsden Flag

You have noticed at recent demonstrations, that some of the folks wave the Gadsden flag, I thought maybe you would like a little history of the flag and why I post the Gadsden flag on the right side of this web page.

The History

In 1751, Benjamin Franklin wrote a satirical commentary in his Pennsylvania Gazette suggesting that as a way to thank the Brits for their policy of sending convicted felons to America, American colonists should send rattlesnakes to England.

In 1754, Mr. Franklin used the snake again. This time as an illustration (the first political cartoon). This was an attempt to unite the Colonies during the French and Indian War. The newspapers all over the Colonies used the illustration and the snake as an American symbol was born.



By 1775, the popular snake symbol was no longer cut into pieces and it was being used all over the Colonies. It was used for all sorts of things: buttons, money, and of course, flags and banners. It was also no longer a generic snake but a rattlesnake.

The first time we find the snake and the motto "Don't Tread on Me":

In the fall of 1775, at the battle of Bunker Hill, Gen. Washington's troops were so low on supplies (namely ammunition) that they were told "not to fire till you see the whites of their eyes."

In October, a merchant ship called The Black Prince returned to Philadelphia from a voyage to England. On board were private letters to the Second Continental Congress that informed them that the British government was sending two ships to America loaded with arms and gunpowder for the British troops.

Congress decided that General Washington needed those arms more than the British. A plan was hatched to capture the cargo ships. They authorized the creation of a Continental Navy, starting with four ships. The frigate that carried the information from England, the Black Prince, was one of the four. It was purchased, converted to a man-of-war, and renamed the Alfred.

To accompany the Navy on their first mission, Congress also authorized the mustering of five companies of Marines. The Alfred and its sailors and marines went on to achieve some of the most notable victories of the American Revolution. But that's not the story we're interested in here.

What's particularly interesting for us is that some of the Marines that enlisted that month in Philadelphia were carrying drums painted yellow, emblazoned with a fierce rattlesnake, coiled and ready to strike, with thirteen rattles, and sporting the motto "Don't Tread on Me."

In December 1775, "An American Guesser" anonymously wrote to the Pennsylvania Journal:

"I observed on one of the drums belonging to the marines now raising, there was painted a Rattle-Snake, with this modest motto under it, 'Don't tread on me.' As I know it is the custom to have some device on the arms of every country, I supposed this may have been intended for the arms of America."

This anonymous writer, having "nothing to do with public affairs" and "in order to divert an idle hour," speculated on why a snake might be chosen as a symbol for America.

First, it occurred to him that "the Rattle-Snake is found in no other quarter of the world besides America."

The rattlesnake also has sharp eyes, and "may therefore be esteemed an emblem of vigilance." Furthermore,

"She never begins an attack, nor, when once engaged, ever surrenders: She is therefore an emblem of magnanimity and true courage. ... she never wounds 'till she has generously given notice, even to her enemy, and cautioned him against the danger of treading on her."

"I confess I was wholly at a loss what to make of the rattles, 'till I went back and counted them and found them just thirteen, exactly the number of the Colonies united in America; and I recollected too that this was the only part of the Snake which increased in numbers. ...

"'Tis curious and amazing to observe how distinct and independent of each other the rattles of this animal are, and yet how firmly they are united together, so as never to be separated but by breaking them to pieces. One of those rattles singly, is incapable of producing sound, but the ringing of thirteen together, is sufficient to alarm the boldest man living."

Many scholars now agree that this "American Guesser" was Benjamin Franklin.

Franklin is also known for opposing the use of an eagle — "a bird of bad moral character" — as a national symbol.


Why is it called Gadsden Flag?

Although Benjamin Franklin helped create the American rattlesnake symbol, his name isn't generally attached to the rattlesnake flag. The yellow "don't tread on me" standard is usually called a Gadsden flag, for Colonel Christopher Gadsden, or less commonly, a Hopkins flag, for Commodore Esek Hopkins.

These two individuals were mulling about Philadelphia at the same time, making important contributions to American history and the history of the rattlesnake flag.

Christopher Gadsden was an American patriot if ever there was one. He led Sons of Liberty in South Carolina starting in 1765, and was later made a colonel in the Continental Army. In 1775 he was in Philadelphia representing his home state in the Continental Congress. He was also one of three members of the Marine Committee who decided to outfit and man the Alfred and its sister ships.

Gadsden and Congress chose a Rhode Island man, Esek Hopkins, as the commander-in-chief of the Navy. The flag that Hopkins used as his personal standard on the Alfred is the one we would now recognize. It's likely that John Paul Jones, as the first lieutenant on the Alfred, ran it up the gaff.

It's generally accepted that Hopkins' flag was presented to him by Christopher Gadsden, who felt it was especially important for the commodore to have a distinctive personal standard. Gadsden also presented a copy of this flag to his state legislature in Charleston. This is recorded in the South Carolina congressional journals:

"Col. Gadsden presented to the Congress an elegant standard, such as is to be used by the commander in chief of the American navy; being a yellow field, with a lively representation of a rattle-snake in the middle, in the attitude of going to strike, and these words underneath, "Don't Tread on Me!"

Why do I post it on my page?

I post the Gadsden flag on my page because it represents a lot of the same things it represented back in 1775...

Like in 1775, we are fighting for our liberty from a controlling government. A government that would like complete control of all of our money, personal lives, and liberty.

I believe that it is representative of a joined, yet separate, Union (like the rattles of a rattlesnake) . A Union of people with vastly different ideas but can agree that this is a great country and its people need to be free at any cost.

I believe that the Gadsden flag represents how Americans feel right now, coiled and ready to strike. The corrupt and foolish politicians are starting to hear our rattle, but they are not taking heed that we are about to strike.

I feel how Ben Franklin felt in 1775, "She [the rattlesnake] never begins an attack, nor, when once engaged, ever surrenders: She is therefore an emblem of magnanimity and true courage. ... she never wounds 'till she has generously given notice, even to her enemy, and cautioned him against the danger of treading on her."

John Salazar says town halls not productive

I read this article from the Pueblo Chieftain that quotes John Salazar as saying (about the town halls) that "They're just not productive, unless people are willing to be respectful and listen to one another."

So what is Mr. Salazar's solution? Have a teleconference town hall. He hasn't released the information about the conference call yet. Why is John Salazar so afraid to meet with his constituents? If he was doing something everybody agreed with, I bet there would be no issue in meeting us, so he could brag and collect votes.

I really dislike this teleconferencing of town halls, it irritates me for a few reasons:

1) Mr. Salazar will probably take questions, but only select questions.

2) Mr. Salazar can not see the people he represents. He needs to see our emotions (good or bad), we (both John and We the People) are losing 1/2 the process of communication.

3) Who is actually answering the questions? Is it Mr. Salazar, our elected servant, or is it some Acorn flunky behind the scenes?

4) Are the people on the town hall conference call citizens of Colorado's third congressional district? We elected John Salazar we deserve the right to talk to him.

Also note that security appears an excuse with the Representative. The article states:

"Salazar's press secretary called to inform him that a local politician in Grand Junction led a protest to his offices there and that Grand Junction police say one of the protesters threatened his life. That information has been forwarded to Capitol police and to the FBI."

My answer to that is; Don't you trust the Grand Junction Police Department, the Mesa County Sheriff's office and your own security detail? I guess the answer is self evident.
