John Salazar should be working for the people of Colorado's Third Congressional District NOT California's Eighth!

Does Salazar think he is Jesus?

About the only time John Salazar comes to Grand Junction is to campaign for reelection. Grand Junction is the second largest town in his district and he doesn't like to even show his face.

Well Nancy Pelosi John Salazar was here this weekend debating Scott Tipton for Club 20. I read an article in the Daily Sentinel about the debate and it got my blood boiling.

It appears to have been the same "old song and dance" by the Democrats.... It's all President Bushs fault. Well Mr. Salazar you have been in the House of Representatives since 2004. The House of Representatives controls the checkbook of this country. Why not take a little blame?

According to the article John Salazar believes he is a leader because he voted against the Cap and Trade bill. That is one bill Mr. Salazar. That does not make you leader. That means you had permission from Nancy Pelosi to vote against the legislation. You voted for...Health Care. Numerous pork projects ($30 million of your own), bailout after bailout. Oh yeah and where is the Budget of the United States? Maybe you can spare some time from your "busy" schedule in the Appropriations Committee and make a damn budget!

The final quote in the article was that Salazar didn't credit for his successes...
“I could walk on water and be criticized for not swimming,”

Let me tell you something Mr. Salazar there is no chance you will be walking on water, no worries there, I would just settle for you being the Representative of the Third Congressional District of Colorado instead of the Representative of the Eighth Congressional District of California.

Salazar Defends Health Care Bill

I was reading in the Pueblo Chieftain that the Representative of the eastern part of the Third Congressional District thinks that the new Health Care Law will "save" Medicare.

Looking at the numbers that are listed in the article: The law is supposed to reduce the deficit by $2 trillion. Then the "Pelosi Puppet" said, "This bill is totally paid for," he said, in part by cutting waste, fraud and abuse by about $630 billion.

Using simple math $2 trillion - $630 billion = $1,370 trillion that supposed to be "reduced". Interesting that the numbers somehow don't add up? Maybe we shouldn't be taking advice from a guy that is in the hole, personally by 3 or 4 million dollars at last check.

Another quote in the article: Salazar said, "Employees and employers can get the same kind of insurance that members of Congress have. They can pick and choose from a large pool" of providers. Then you follow up that quote with this quote from the article:

"It begins to put the patient back in the driver's seat, and takes the insurers out," he said.

So what is it going to be John? Are we going to have more competition or less competition? You get the insurers out isn't that lessening the pool?

I just heard Mr. Salazar is supposed to be in town today. He will be at power company giving away our money and the Veteran's hospital for a photo op. If anybody gets a chance to actually see him let me know what happens. My bet is he won't be answering any questions. Debate is not too much of a priority with John Pelosi Salazar.

What does it take to buy John Salazar?

I was reading an article in the Daily Sentinel and I noticed that No Show Salazar does work for you if you give him campaign contributions. So I thought I would just list some of his major contributors to help you ponder what else is going on in that Pueblo office (Don't think he has seen the Grand Junction office)....

John Salazar - Colorado's Earmark King

John Salazar is my Representative in the U.S. House of Representatives, though you couldn't tell if you lived in Grand Junction because we have not seen him for quite some time (that is why I posted his picture so we could remember what he looks like). It appears that he does enjoy spending your money and he is getting better at it with time.

In 2008 John Salazar had the least amount of earmarks among the Colorado House members that had earmarks (Mike Coffman had none). By 2010, John Salazar leads the pack of current Colorado House members on earmarks. It appears that the longer that John Salazar stays in office the more disconnected he becomes with what his constituents actually want...JOHN SALAZAR STOP SPENDING MONEY!

Salazar Bypasses Colorado for Afghanistan and Pakistan

John Salazar, Betsy Markey and Max Baucus went to Afghanistan last week according to the Fort Collins Coloradoan.

I guess President O needed someone from Congress to go over and smooth things over with President Karzai and Salazar stood up and said "Hey I'm not doing anything!" and off he went.

Quotes from Salazar and Markey on the trip...

"I have the highest regard for General McChrystal and I take him at his word that he trusts and has a good working relationship with President Karzai, and President Karzai is committed to doing what's best for Afghanistan and doing all that we can to defeat Al-Qaeda," ---Markey

I am sure that President Karzai really appreciates knowing that a Congressmen from middle America "approves" him. That probably made him change his position about quitting and becoming a member of the Taliban. Did you take him at his word last week too?

"One of the things that General McChrystal himself told us, he felt that the media had actually taken President Karzai's statements kind of out of context, so that was General McChrystal's comment to us," Salazar said.

My first thought is the media takes things out of context ...naaa! Second thought is that is; how would John know what the media takes out of context he hasn't talked to anybody in 3 years.

"I know that the day before we met with President Karzai, General McChrystal had had lunch with him," Markey said. "I know that they're working out any of the issues that we have and the general is optimistic and positive about their working relationship, understands President Karzai as a person."
Salazar said: "He is totally committed, in my opinion, to actually working with America to reduce the number of Taliban or eliminate the Taliban."

This to me sounds like a quote form someone who has no idea what the hell is going on in Afghanistan. I guess his "total commitment" is to join the Taliban and destroy it form the inside huh?

In the whole scope of things this was a PR vacation for Markey and Salazar. Karzai humored them, McChrystal tolerated them, and their constituents got ignored once again. Leave the diplomatic meetings up to the professionals. Maybe it was a down payment for their health care bill vote. Maybe they can get a cushy State Department job after they are voted out in November, with all that "foreign relations" service.

The Colorado Commies

Of the seven of the Colorado Congressional delegation to the House of Representatives, five of them voted against the people and approved the Democratic Party National Health Care Plan.

Those who voted for the plan  Diana DeGette (District 1), Betsy Markey (District 4), Ed Perlmutter (District 7), Jared Polis (District 2), John Salazar (District 3).

Two that I really would like to give attention to; Betsy Markey and John Salazar. Betsey
Markey started out this process opposed to health care, then ended up voting for the heath care bill. I will be looking in the coming days and weeks to see what kind of special deal she got from Obama and Pelosi.

John Salazar on the other hand, submitted to congressional leadership like a newborn pup. No talk of a special deal, nothing. I mean if you were going to be voted out of office on the basis of your particular vote, wouldn't you try to get something for your district....hummm maybe not for your district, maybe you get something for yourself, say a cabinet post, ambassadorship, or head of the KGB. I'll be keeping a close eye on Mr. Salazar.

I really don't believe this health care thing is over. I will soon be making contact with Steve King and Josh Penry to see what we can do (or what has been done) to advance a bill in the Colorado Legislature that considers the forced purchase of health care unconstitutional because it is a states right, not a right of the federal government.

Democrats believe they have beat the system , beat the American people. It hasn't happened yet.  310,000,000 trumps 219.

Salazar Owned by Pelosi

It looks as though our Congressman is acting more like a Representative of the 8th Congressional District in California than a Congressman from Western Colorado. In an article in the the Pueblo Chieftain John Salazar appears to be saying he is in favor of passing of the Health Care bill, even though his phone lines were melted from calls from the opposition.

The article states that Mr. Salazar has not seen the cost estimates of the bill, yet he says:  "I feel very strongly this will bring down the cost of insurance, We will have more competition and more transparency." Interesting he doesn't know the costs, yet he knows it is going to save us money, humm....

The article also says that the House was going to modfiy and pass the bill this week. We know that isn't true they are going to modify and pass only the changes to the bill. They are going to just going to "deem the bill passed".

The article states; "that Salazar argued (though I don't know with whom) that the wide range legislation would give 800,000 Colorado residents heath coverage through exchanges." I was wondering if these 800,000 residents are citizens?

The article states:  He conceded that public polls show a growing number of voters fear the Democratic plan ultimately will cost taxpayers more money and raise health care costs. Salazar disagreed, saying opponents have encouraged that reaction.  My reaction to this is...How would you know Mr. Salazar? You never take the time to actually see ½ of your district. The western portion of your district has no representation at all in Congress. We can not actually reach a person on the phone and when we mail you we just get a form letter of the Democrat talking points.

Mr. Salazar calls himself a fiscally conservative Democrat, "a Blue Dog". I disagree. I find Mr. Salazar to be more of a "Lap Dog" Democrat and the lap belongs to Nancy Pelosi.

Pass Bill, then Read Bill

First our Congressmen don't read the bills, now they pass them so we can find out what is inside. What is this? Are we opening Christmas Winter Solstice presents? Are we looking for the prize in the cereal box?
Do these people really think we are that stupid? What a total farce this Congress has become.

A note to John Salazar...Do you really want to follow this crazy lady off the cliff?

John Salazar are you watching Massachusetts?

Another Dear John Letter....

Dear John,

With the Senate race tightening in Massachusetts, one has to wonder if our local Representative is taking notice. Massachusetts is one of the most liberal places in the country (if not the most liberal) and a Republican is getting close enough to actually win there on Tuesday.

Mr. Salazar, Colorado's Third Congressional District is no where as liberal as the State of Massachusetts. You vote with the left wing side of the party 97% of the time, the other 3% you abstain. 97% Democrat voting does not make you a moderate, no matter how hard you try to convince us otherwise. I would be willing to bet that the people of Western Colorado do not agree with your representation of the Third Congressional during your term in office.

You vote to bankrupt America over and over again and, and you do not have the courtesy to even talk to people you are paid to represent. During the Congressional break of August 2009, you chose not to see your constituents and hear their concerns about the health care bill. Then, without any input from your constituents, you voted for the bill. We elected you to represent the Third Congressional District not the cities of of San Francisco and Chicago.

Your challenger, Scott Tipton, lost to you in 2006 by a margin of about 60,000 votes. That when times were good. That was pre-health care bill. That was pre-housing crisis. That was before the unemployment rate was at 10%. That was before the energy industry was forced out of Western Colorado. That was before the failing Presidency of Barrack Obama.

What I do know for sure is that the special interests and lobbyists cannot buy my vote, like they have bought yours. My family and I will not be voting for you in November. I will do everything in my power to campaign against you. I have read that the Third Congressional District seat is considered a "safe Democrat" seat. I contend that no seat is "safe" when the will of the people has been forgotten.

You Mr. Salazar, have forgotten the most important part of your job. You for got to represent your constituents. Your constituents will not forget in November.

In the dead of night, on a weekend, they passed a nightmare of a health care bill. Our Representative voted for the bill. About a month ago he said he would not support a bill with a public option (Daily Sentinel article 10/23/2009) but now he supports a public option....In my book that makes him a liar, I don't vote for liars...

Message To John Salazar - Just say NO!

The House of Representatives is going to vote on the Nancy Pelosi health care bill as soon as Friday. The key to the passage of this vote is the Blue Dog Democrats, which our own (Colorado's third District) John Salazar, is a member.

I don't want you to bother Mr. Salazar, if any of these listed things are true:

If you want to wait in line for health care.
If you want the government to take over 1/6th of the economy.
If you want to be put on a waiting list to find a doctor.
If you you want higher taxes.
If you want DMV style health care service.
If you want your Medicare Advantage taken away.
If you want someone else to choose what is good for your families health.
If you want to pay a penalty for not choosing to buy what the government wants you to buy.
If you want the small business you work for to cut employees or close down completely.

All that is asked is that you stand up for your constituents in the Third Congressional District of Colorado and not the constituents of the Eighth Congressional District of California. John Salazar says town halls not productive

I read this article from the Pueblo Chieftain that quotes John Salazar as saying (about the town halls) that "They're just not productive, unless people are willing to be respectful and listen to one another."

So what is Mr. Salazar's solution? Have a teleconference town hall. He hasn't released the information about the conference call yet. Why is John Salazar so afraid to meet with his constituents? If he was doing something everybody agreed with, I bet there would be no issue in meeting us, so he could brag and collect votes.

I really dislike this teleconferencing of town halls, it irritates me for a few reasons:

1) Mr. Salazar will probably take questions, but only select questions.

2) Mr. Salazar can not see the people he represents. He needs to see our emotions (good or bad), we (both John and We the People) are losing 1/2 the process of communication.

3) Who is actually answering the questions? Is it Mr. Salazar, our elected servant, or is it some Acorn flunky behind the scenes?

4) Are the people on the town hall conference call citizens of Colorado's third congressional district? We elected John Salazar we deserve the right to talk to him.

Also note that security appears an excuse with the Representative. The article states:

"Salazar's press secretary called to inform him that a local politician in Grand Junction led a protest to his offices there and that Grand Junction police say one of the protesters threatened his life. That information has been forwarded to Capitol police and to the FBI."

My answer to that is; Don't you trust the Grand Junction Police Department, the Mesa County Sheriff's office and your own security detail? I guess the answer is self evident.

So here we go again with an elected Representative that does not wish to actually represent his constituents. I guess we get the shaft again. Thanks Mr. Salazar.

Where are you John Salazar?

My elected Representative to the U.S. House of Representatives has gone AWOL. It appears for some reason that Mr. Salazar cannot hold a town hall meeting in the second largest city in his district.

The excuse I read in the Sentinel was that "We are having town hall meetings which are teleconference meetings throughout the district. The district is very, very big." a quote from Mr. Salazar made during the Presidential visit. Mr. Salazar also made another visit, to Grand Junction, to "round table" with health care leaders. Why didn't he schedule a town hall when he was here one of those two times?

As for the size of our district yes it is large, but it is also mountainous so people don't live on every inch of land. People are usually bunched up in areas we call cities, that have things called airports for you to land a taxpayer funded airplane ride.

As for the "teleconference town hall meetings" I think that is just a way to disconnect (to use a telephone phrase) from the people. I think he needs to see us. We are his employers, we need to know what the hell he plans on doing with health care.

What Mr. Salazar has to remember is, that he does not work for Nancy Pelosi or President B.H. Obama he works for us, the citizens of Colorado's the third Congressional District. What Mr. Salazar has not done is meet with the people whom he works and the boss is getting mad!
