Up to a couple months ago I never heard of Cloward and Piven, I thought they sounded like an old country-western duet. Boy was I wrong.
For those of you that do not know who Cloward and Piven are ,let me give you a little lesson. Richard Cloward and Francis Piven were sociologists at Columbia University [I wonder who took poly-sci classes at Columbia...hum I wonder...] . They came up with this plan, in 1966, that could change the United States political system from one of capitalism to one of socialism, using a crisis to orchestrate the change.
There idea was to get organizers to get more people enrolled in welfare. This massive influx of new welfare recipients would bankrupt the welfare system.
Cloward and Piven's called for "cadres of aggressive organizers" to use "demonstrations to create a climate of militancy." Intimidated by threats of black violence, politicians would appeal to the federal government for help. Essentially they wanted groups of angry poor people to be rioting the government, because the welfare system was bankrupt. These groups would scare local politicians into asking the federal government for help. The left wing media gets to play a role in this whole thing as well. They would send out that idea of "a federal program of income redistribution".
The federal government would be "forced" into making major changes in our political system to satisfy these angry mobs. Those changes would be "redistributive change" or socialism.
David Horowitz summarizes it as: The strategy of forcing political change through orchestrated crisis. The "Cloward-Piven Strategy" seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse.
In the next day, the Senate will vote on a health care bill. The house has already approved their version of a health care bill. I believe that this is Barrack Obama's, "Cloward and Piven" moment. He is trying to overload the federal system with so many problems (real or imagined)and so much spending, that capitalism system will fail. Then he can usher in a new socialist system of his own. We need to do anything we can to prevent socialism in this country.
We need to stop the government run health care system, we need to stop all the spending in Congress, and we need to do thing ourselves and not ask for government help. True, we have been knocked down lately with this poor economy. We need to get up, brush ourselves off, and take back this country.
Please Wake up America...before we lose it all....
