What were the tea parties about?

I've been thinking about what were the Tea Parties about....

The tea parties in 2009, seemed to be about everything. Don't get me wrong, I think everything brought up at the tea parties are valid issues. I just think that we as Americans are trying to fight a battle on too many fronts. I think that if you throw out too many issues to solve at one time, people confuse the issues, or get frustrated and just give up trying to change anything.

The point I'm trying to make is that, I think we need to hone our message that we need to get across to the politicians and the American public. Is the message that we get taxed too much or is it the bailout of everybody? Is illegal immigration the primary focus? Wars in two countries? Tax code? Cap and Trade? The recession? Socialism vs. Capitalism? I know it is frustrating with all the issues facing this country, but if we take them one at a time we can get anything or everything done.

Maybe it is time to bring out some of those founding fathers ideas; dust them off and look at how they handled the many situations at the time. We can start with the the tea party held in 1773. That tea party was about taxation without representation, one point to bring about the change of an entire government and build and entire nation.
