The Big O

We got to witness the big O in our village yesterday afternoon. Mesa County is such a hot bed of liberal activity, I was wondering why Obama would want to come here. The county voted for McCain by like 75%, I think that statistic is my answer. If the President can go to a place dominated by conservative Republicans and say "Look these conservative Republicans seem to like me and the health plan it must be good" maybe it will give him a little pull.

The question then becomes one of how do we only get the liberals into the "Town Hall". I think the answer is in location. When you select the tickets "randomly" you have the computer select a majority of the tickets from places like Boulder and Denver. Cities which are defiantly more liberal than Grand Junction. If you go back east you just hear Colorado and you think you live around Denver anyway. I know I applied for ticket and had several people I know apply as well no dice. An interesting coincidence that the Bresnan phone and Internet service was down during the selection process. Hummm.

After listening to BHO I always get the feeling that we are all headed to some huge abyss that only the great and wise B Hussein can get us out with his many programs and spending. Luckily I had a great rally to look back on to buffer me from the sounds of fear and loathing from B. Hussein. I did really enjoy the "Hands off my Health Care" event in the park. I got a front row seat in the grass and I really enjoyed listening to the all of the speakers. I needed that rally, it gave me confidence that the whole country is not lost. There are actually people that are paying attention and care about something other than cast American Idol. It renewed my faith in the American people and gave me true hope that this health care bill will be defeated.
