Every body played it when we were kids. A dinner plate somehow broke, a ball seen nearby and two children pointing their fingers at each other..."It's his fault!" That is how the blame game is played and it never stops when you get older either.
I worked as a Computer System Administrator in the 1990's and I would run into this "game" all the time, I would ask how they got to a particular screen and I would get the answer "It just happened." That statement never did help me resolve a problem. Everybody was worried about how it looked or that they would be "In trouble" and all I was looking for was a way to solve the possible problem.
Currently, I'm in charge of maintenance at a motel, and I run into this problem a lot. Situations like: "It's not my fault my 9 dogs, 2 cats and a goat tore up your room, it's the animals fault." or "No one told me pets were not allowed on the grass (said while standing next to the NO PETS sign)."
Let's face it we've all done the really stupid thing in life that makes you look like a dolt or ends up costing you money, it happens, we're human. I think we all need to learn to be honest, and try to solve the problem, not just keep blaming someone else, because the solution for a problem does not arrive from "the blame game".
Which brings me to our current politicians, the masters of the "blame game". Everybody knows that the Liberals and Conservative, Democrats and Republicans blame each other for everything that goes bad. I think it is time to stop the blaming and start the resolving the problems.
The current leadership in the White House is very good at the blame game. They blame the "Prior administration(s)" for everything from: "the Economy we inherited" to the "poorly managed war". Let's face it guys, you were there with George Bush, Nancy Pelosi, and Sen. Dodd. With them we were there, the rest of the American People. Yes, we are all to blame, for the mess created in Our Country, from running up our own personal debt to maybe just a lack of interest in the politics and policies of the time, it's our fault. Now can we move on to the solutions, instead of continue to cry "It's his fault!"
